Plastics such as PVC and multilayered materials are difficult to keep in circulation. For this reason, it is all the more important to collect, separate and reprocess recyclable plastics such as PET or HDPE by type. In the case of HDPE, color separation before reprocessing is particularly important. When a material cannot be recycled it should still be collected and treated according to local needs, for example through incineration for district heating, so that it does not end up as litter in the environment, causing harm to animal and human health.
