ALPLA Videobot - Food-grade packaging

If recycled packaging is to be produced for contact with food, at least 95 percent of the material must also come from packaging that was previously used for food. In addition, the production of the recyclate must be approved by EFSA, the European Food Safety Authority, to ensure that there is no risk to human health. Currently, the only food-grade recycled plastic in Europe is rPET, which we use at ALPA for new beverage bottles, for example. Non-food grade packaging is used for products such as cleaning agents, oils or shampoos. Very often our rHDPE is also used in addition to rPET.
